Switching to barefoot shoes can take time. EZ01 is specifically designed to be a transitional barefoot shoe, making the adaptation more comfortable for first-time wearers.
Each pair includes a removable transition insole that adds 3mm of cushioning and a subtle 2mm heel elevation. This creates a familiar wearing experience while allowing your feet to gradually build strength and mobility.
When your feet are ready, take the insole out. The ground feel sharpens, the sole moves more freely, and you're walking fully barefoot. Weeks or months, the pace is yours: EZ01 waits for your feet, not the other way round.

EZ01 features Urbanroot’s signature wide toe box, giving your toes room to splay on every step. Your toes can do their job properly: balancing, steadying you in a way narrow shoes never allow.
Combined with an ultra-flexible sole, EZ01 bends and twists with your foot instead of restricting it. Every movement feels more natural: walking , squatting, climbing stairs and everything else.
